I should start posting more

On a good day I love my job, and on a bad day I am board out of my mind. I have been board a lot, at work lately. But then being a Janitor at Wal-Mart is a little too easy, most of the time. So now I am back at the still unanswered question, besides janitorial work, what on earth am I qualified to do? I know that I do fairly well with animals and I love kids, so maybe a zoo or a daycare would work? Well the daycare would have to take toddlers, I ever since I failed that baby sitting cores years ago, I have been terrified of the idea of being left alone with a baby. But animals are different, I don’t have to worry about burping them and accordantly hitting them too hard.

I was planning on watching Horror movies daily this month, but that plain fell though. Between work, game night, and trying to get cote up with season 3 of The Big Bang Theory, it has become almost imposable. Also I have managed to fall behind in my anime viewing and magna reading. However I am back on the anime and manga wagon, right now I am watching:

Hetalia Axis Powers – Vary funny and hard for me to describe, but for the best enjoyment, forget everything that you learned in history class.
.
Koi Kaze – This is a love story, between an older brother and his little sister. It has a lot to do with the older brothers struggle not to give into his feelings.

Shiki – If you like vampire stories I recommend this one! Basically, the people in a particular village are being killed and some of them are coming back to life.

Slayers Try – Like Slayers and Slayers Next, this show is truly amazing and funny! Just Imation that you have been playing DND for years, using the same characters and watching them become uber powerful, that’s kind of what its like.

And I am currently reading the manga for Pet Shop of Horror. The anime was a lot creeper, but most of the creepy stuff I have read so far was already covered in the anime. But it is also amazing how much of the manga didn’t make it into the anime, so I am going to keep reading it.

Noroi – The Curse

A documentary filmmaker explores seemingly unrelated paranormal incidents connected by the legend of an ancient demon called the “kagutaba.”

Some times I plan to write a review an end up at a lose for words, this is one of those times. But I will say this, if you’re a fan of Japanese film and don’t mind sub titles, you should definitely cheek this one out.

Highschool of the Dead

R – 17+ (violence & profanity)

My rating 8/10 high school girls

Boobies, Panty shots, and the undead oh my!

If you don’t like Action, Ecchi, Horror, or the Supernatural, say far away form this anime. But if your like me and can typically handle these things, the by all mean watch this anime! The art is amazing, even when you see the hordes of the undead coming at our heroes. I only have a few problems with the anime, for one thing it ends premature, but that is what you get when the manga is still being published.

Another thing is, that in my experience with anime, they typically explain what is going on in the last few episodes, that isn’t the case in High School of the Dead. I would have loved to know if some fool with power, was trying to create the ultimate biological weapon. Or at least where the pelage of the dead started. I guess this is because I am new to the survivalist genre and like to have at least some answers.

One of the things that amassed me , was how much fan service they managed to pull off. Honestly it seemed like they where either killing the undead or reminding us, that most of the family characters had huge boobies. I guess that isn’t a bad thing, after all they some how managed to balance it out with, Koura Hirano’s amazing knowledge of guns and Takagi Saya’s brilliant mind.

Now all that I want to know is how on earth the story ends, for that I will have to read the manga. Since the anime has been license, I am hoping that I will be able to find the first few volumes of the manga, the next time that I am at the local book store.

“This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper” T.S. Eliot “The Hollow Man”

I am back!

I could make excuses as to why I haven’t been writing, but that would make for some vary boring reading. Instead I have reviews to plain for Glee, High School of the Dead, Shiki, The Big Bang Theory, and maybe some books.

In other news I have finally joined a stable group of gamers, I have been volunteering at the local zoo, and I have joined a gym. So now I have a larger cercal of friends and with any luck I won’t be working as a janitor that much longer.

Gamer

Gamer is rated R, for strong language, nudity, adult situations, and violence

Imagine a world where you can control another human beings, though your gaming system. On the surface it sounds kind of cool, however the movie digs into how easy it is to dehumanize another humans. In the movie, this dehumanizing takes the form of treating the people in the two games. The first game is a more realistic take off of second life, where you can literally manipulate the actions of another human being. The other game, called Slayers, allows you to control a death row inmate.

I enjoyed the move, but only from an ethical and moral stand point. From what I could see the movie, bought up the importance of free will, and what happens when we give it up.

One of the people in the second life game, is being controlled by a sloppy pervert. The Pervert is making the women do things that suet his test, rather then thinking about her humanity.

The boy how is controlling one of the inmates in the game Slayers, thinks that the game is cool. There is nothing cool about the game and the inmate, that the boy is controlling tells him the people in the game are “… real humans … .”. If the death row inmate was able to realize, the importance of his own humanity, and the humanity of the other people being controlled by gamers. Why couldn’t the pervert understand that, and why did it take the boy so long to understand it as well? It all comes down to objectifying the people who’s lives they where manipulating in the game and being manipulated in the game. When we strip away what makes some one human, for the sake of pornography, war games ( using real people as puppets ) or any number of other things, we come to a point where we can no longer see the human beings.

“Right now it’s the despite ones convicts addicts, the sick the poor. The ones that fell though the cracks.” Who are participating in the second life game. They are doing this, because in the movie, the money is good and they need the money. It is easy to take advantage of the most vulnerable members of society or to hate people on death row. However since we are all called to love one another, even though it is hard, we all have to do our best to see each other as human beings.

I am planning to Review the movie Gamer

I am currently planning to write a review for the movie Gamer. However unlike most of the other movies, and stuff that I will probably be reviewing here, this one will require some research. For one thing I want to explore the moral and ethical implications behind the movie. I also know that I will probably have to view the movie a second time, after doing some related reading.

Because of my background, I will mostly be doing this from a Christian prospective. I also want to know what other religions say about free will and human life. In the end my main curiosity are these, how important is it that human beings have free will and what happens when we as a society say that some human lives have no value.

A warning from Mike Mozart of JeepersMedia

I have been watching Mike Mozart’s channel, JeepersMedia, on http://www.youtube.com for a while now. I have learned more about what to look for when buying or avoiding toys, here then I ever imagined possible. But this isn’t a review of the you tub channel, this time I am passing along a warning provided by Mick Mozart. For those of you who don’t know Mike Mozart is the toy designer who likes to show off his massive collection of funny and fail toys.

But like I said I am here to pass on a warning, you tube channels are being hacked and used to pass along a link to a porn site. The porn site in question is mentioned in the video below. If you use you tube or know some one who dose, please pass this video on to them. There is nothing cool about what these sick minded perverts are doing and I hope some one puts a stop to this quickly.

One Geek in a family of non-geeks

Being a geek is interesting to begin with, being a geek in a family of non-geeks can be difficult. I spend my time trying to hide hobbies that I know no one else in the house will appreciate or approve of. I have to do this, other wise I will have to put up with being told that the things I am into are not good for me. For one thing I love anime, most of my most beloved shows involve some killer battles, and other adult content and themes. I am 27 years old and I know exactly where I draw the line. For one thing I don’t watch porn and there is a limit to how much swearing I will tolerate. For one thing I will never watch or read anything with a ratting above R. When I am planning on looking at something with an R ratting, I do my research. If something comes up in the program or something I am reading, that over steps my boundaries I turn it off or put it down permanently.

But having to keep these aspects of my life hidden can be a pain at times. For one thing, I have a slowly growing anime collection, there will come a time when it will out grow its hiding place. I don’t have a back up plain for when this happens, I can already see my mom and dad going on rampages over some of the art work on the anime DVD box sets. All of the anime that I own is appropriate for ages 7 to 14. In fact most of the stuff that I geek out about is kid friendly. there are some things that I am into that are meant for adults, but I am an adult.

So yes I love kid stuff like Adventures of the Little Koala. But I also enjoy Darker Projects, this show has an Adult Adversary. If your below the age of 18 do not listen to this show.

I am planning to use this blog to share my hobbies and maybe learn about some of yours. Also I am dyslexic and would like it if some one would help me with editing from time to time.
